I need a hand, if anyone can help.

I have created a whole new world which I am pleased with, but I do not seem to be able to do the following;

1- Dictate the exact starting position of my civ and the CPU civs (that'd be fun)
2- Edit any of the rules, they are all blanked out in the editor!

I am using edit version 1.11

Help!! :(

Go to "tools" and then you'll see "use default rules" or something like that. Uncheck it or whatever. Then you'll be able to edit. Very simple once you find it...but they didn't put it someplace obvious. I'll have to say something to my domestic adviser about that :crazyeyes

Aha, thank you - you're domestic advisor will have a stay of execution.

Now then - is it possible to dictate the starting position of each civ, because I have created a scenario which depends on that. You have 8 - 16 civs. The human PLayer gets a fairly large continent to himself/herself and all the CPU's are scattered around the globe, usually having to share meagre resources (ha ha ha). Obviosuly the level is deity, and basically you have to build yourself up for when the CPU manages to cross the ocean separating the continents. It does'nt work if the players are randomly placed, and using the player start locations still doesn't really work because you may start where you intended the CPU to start.

Any idea's????

If you are talking about the correct position on the earth map then you can use a few tools to do that, Eric Tan's savegame editor. Gramphos' Civ3CopyTool savegame editor, Gramphos' Civilization Placement Tool (CPT).

If you play on random map, then I would suggest you create the map in the editor then note the start position on the map. Then you can use those coordinate with the help of the tools mentioned above to determine which Civ starts where ;)
