My brother is linux crazed:love: and he want's CIV for linux so I'll go to the free side:lol: he wants to know if their is any chance of their being a CIV for linux.

PS I don't mean free CIV but CIV just working on linux.

It's been a while since I played Civ 4 on linux (got Vista) but I had warlords working using Cedega. I hear now that WINE has better support so maybe use that (WINE is free, Cedega isn't). A few graphical glitches but nothing serious.

WINE has very good support for CIV. Thanks to that, I hardly ever boot windows anymore. Games used to be my last reason to use windows at home, but all my CIV-ing is in linux now. :goodjob:
There is no noticable loss of performance. (Remember WINE Is Not an Emulator ;) )

There are some glitches, like petermarkab mentions. Mainly, the progress-bars on the city don't work. You can only see the amount of food/production in the city-screen. And the globe-view is partly black. Not really important for me.
But otherwise: CIV, the extensions and all mods I have tried, work allright.
