CIV IV does not start

Hey!
I have got a problem! I played since yesterday without problems, then I wanted to add a nation (from this site), but that did not work! The game crashed always. Then i reinstalled CIV IV today, and it does not work at all!!!
If I want to start the game, there comes nothing, no error (report) or something else, nothing happens
Also if i klick 10 times on the application, nothing happens at all.
Can you help me please??

what patch version is the game?
is this just civ4 or one of the expansions?
what operating system?
have a look in the windows event manager - does that show any error message?
