A preface note I have no clue where to post this on the entirety of the forums. It just seems notable due to the fact that it is in fact a previous Civilization lead designer.

    Source

Appears that he primarily wants it to be an Age of Empires-esque real-time strategy, albeit with more focus on economic features.

    AOE style with more economy?

I'd be onboard with that in a New York minute.

Rts dead? Nah...it's just that aoe2 was so good people stopped trying, and then Microsoft killed off the aoe franchise. This is exactly what I've been looking for. I too am on board with the concept.

Anyone else notice that aoe2 hd is getting a new expansion this week? I've been following the developer for over a year now, his product is pretty solid.

RTS doesn't appeal to me but, since Stardock is involved, I wish this new enterprise great success.

Stardock treated Kael (Derek Paxton), the creator of the Fall From Heaven mod, both well and justly. They seem a decent company.

Thanks for the link. It also mentioned that Stardock is working on Galactic Civilizations III. That's awesome!

Well, one would have expected Rise of Nations (with Bryan Reynolds at the lead) would have done better. However, I wish Soren the best and hope his project succeeds.
