How should these be represented in Civ 3 or other flavors:
1. A government based on Objectivism
2. A government based on Communism as practiced
3. A government based on everything being privatized
4. A government based on the Amish
5. A government run by fundamentalist Evangelical Christians
6. North Korea's government
My own guesses would be (for Civ 3):
1. A government based on Objectivism
Man, I'm not sure.
2. A government based on Communism as practiced
This one I can comment on. Despotism in Civ 3 is wrong. Communism should function as Despotism does. Pitiful productivity and high corruption everywhere. The low food production of Communism would mirror real life Communism's tendancy for murder, famine, and overall bad productivity. Military units would be incredibly cheap to maintain. Slave worker units would be very cheap to build.
3. A government based on everything being privatized
This would have the productivity of Republic/Democracy. However, corruption would be like Despotism. Maintenance costs for troops would be around 10 coins per unit. There would be many special buildings for this government that increase luxuries or content faces.
4. A government based on the Amish
This would have the productivity of Monarchy, with very low corruption. However, it would be impossible to build military units. Also, technology would stagnate.
5. A government run by fundamentalist Evangelical Christians
Now we're cookin'! It would have the productivity of Monarchy, moderate corruption, and a bonus when building military units. The people would be significantly happier when they're at war.
6. North Korea's government
I'm guessing this would be like Civ 3 Despotism, but with a communal corruption. The corruption would be high in every city, but it would be communal. There would be a very high number of free units per city.
EDIT: Here's another:
7. Government based on Scientology
The people would undergo forced conversion to Scientology. This would cause 20 turns of extra unhappiness. After that, no one is ever unhappy anymore. The people would be paying extra taxes to the government so the end result is lower economic productivity. The corruption would be moderate to low per city and communal. Workers work at a normal rate. Productivity would generally be like Monarchy.

I'm sure objective thinking led you to come to that
