[Civ2] Civ secession during a war

Hi guys, I have been playing Civ2 since the playstation version then over the years I switched to the PC version (multy gold edition) which I proudly possess an original version recently bought on eBay, anyway... : D

I remember that in the playstation version, whenever I was conquering an enemy capital with a direct attack (for example an amphibious attack, without conquering other cities first) and the enemy civ was an advanced one (probably the most advanced), this civ was going to split in two part and a new one was created.

It was a very pleasant event whitch added randomness and fun to the game.

Does this feature exist for the Pc version as far as you know?

It does exist in the PC game. You need to have an "empty" civ slot for it to happen, and I believe that you also have to be weaker (in the power rating) than the civ whose capital you are taking.
