Civ stole my Trireme, won't return it.

Not sure. Thought you could only steal boats as the Ottomans or using Privateers.
 
Was it perhaps in your borders and then had an Open Border treaty end? That might've caused this, possibly...
 
I already figured it out. See Carthage there? Apparently if the city has 2 bordering seatiles, a ship can pass through. Didn't know that ;)
 
Declare war on them, if not sent to an outer tile, just kill it!

Can you replicate it, did you do something different? Or did you just move the ship and that's it? Maybe it's a one-time thing, you should feel honoured! Civ chose YOU to steal a ship from, it makes you special :p
 
So you built that trireme, and it left your city bearing american banners? Interesting.
 
He's obviously America. Note how he gets the warning of "A city can shoot at an enemy", yet none of the Carthagian cities have an enemy in range - not to mention the clouds hanging above Utique...
