i don´t see the steam option for download the game yet....
Demo* i mean
Do we need a steam account to download and play the demo?
Beats me. It'd be nice if I could use my pre-download for the demo but I'm pretty sure that isn't happening. Probably a button to download the demo will show on teh product screen once the time comes.
In 150 turns the game ends right when it starts to become interesting to play on... Clever marketing´s all.
Demos have always been marketing ploys to entice players into buying the full version. Give them a taste, but leave the good stuff out!
I just want to play the demo purely to see the graphical improvement because I think it's gonna be hard to judge much else in 150 turns. I wonder how many barbarians will spawn on the standard map size in that time?
FU%##########; 15:40 ... I woke up to early
Didn't see this thread. Got up early this morning (5am) to get a few turns in before work to realize that it doesn't come out until 10AM. So disappointing. Now I have to wait until I get out of class at 8pm, and I'm tired.
Is it a 3.00 PM GMT release?
@Dodge_272 yep , if it's not delayed...
2pm GMT. Britain is currently in BST which is GMT+1, so 3pm for Britain, 4pm for mainland Europe.
I've downloaded civ5 already via steam, but will the demo run off that or need a separate installation?
Depends when it unlocks for you. If it unlocks in 23/24 you might need to download the demo. If it unlocks today, no point on downloading the demo.
How long did the download take? And at what speed?
Sorry I didn't make it clear, I'm in europe, so I'll be demoing until friday the 24th.
About an hour (??? I didn't watch it) at ~800 kB/s
With my internet I'm lucky if get 250 kb/s lol
I pre ordered the game via US so I should have tommorrow and in less than a hour I will be playing the demo.
Can anyone post a link to download the demo? thanks in advance
once again.. do we need an open account for that?
