Hi, I've heard of Oldblivion which is a helped make oblivion work on old computers and Shadershock which made Bioshock Shader model 2 compatible. Is there a similar project in the works or is someone interested to do the same thing for Civ V?

A project that would make civ V to be shader model 2 compatible would make Civ V playable on a lot more computers and be totally awesome.

Game works fine on my 4 year old comp with small maps and less than 15 civs. Must play in strategic view though or it periodically crashes.

The only thing needed is "Strategic view default" mod to do the following:
- Enter strategic view on game load without loading all the graphic features.
- Do not exit from strategic view on Esc key, opening menu instead.

Those would both be awesome changes. I am getting a new computer soon anyway, but even still good thinking.

It works perfectly well on my..

AthlonXP64 3000 (1.8GHz)
1GB RAM
GeForce 9200 GT

..granted i play on normally sized maps with relatively low details, but i don't care much about graphics anyway.

I can confirm this as I myself have an almost identical setup.
Athlon 64 3000+ (2.0Ghz), 1,5GB RAM, Nvidia 7800GS, Windows XP
