Civ VII on Switch one doesnt say anything about it being digital or pyhisical release.

There's a page that says 4.8gb of downloadable content but it's all so confusing that it's hard to tell how many versiosn there are..

New Switch 2 games now comes with a label saying if the game is a game key, or it has digital eshop only and not even the box itself...
For what it seems, C7 for Switch 1 is Vanilla only physical, and then all DLC must be bought on the eshop.

So my question is simple, will C7 for Switch 2 also be an hybrid Physical and digital download or will it be full physical and
playable outside the eshop? Which I have no intentions to use it and again, I won't buy a console game that is known to close down
its storefronts?

No one knows for sure yet, but according to this report the updated "Switch 2 Editions" of current games will be a (Switch 1 compatible?) game card and a download code for the digital upgrade:

So if you buy Civ VII for Switch today (or already own it), you will be able to purchase an upgrade to the updated Swich 2 Edition. The still-to-be-released boxed version of the Switch 2 Edtion will basically be the same, but with a free upgrade. At least that is the most recent information I am aware of.

Yeah, I read that too, and people are not liking it... no-one wants a collectable game behind a key-code...

There is still no news about any physical version, but the official FAQ now lists the notable features of the Switch 2 Edition compared to the Switch 1 Edition:

Key features compared to the Switch version* include:
  • Supports Joy-Con 2 controller mouse support. Players can play with the Joy-Con 2 controller as a mouse to have a PC-like experience on their Switch 2.
  • Increased graphical fidelity. Compared to the Switch, Civilization VII on Switch 2 offers higher graphic fidelity.
  • Supports larger map sizes. Players on Switch 2 have larger map sizes offering Standard maps sizes not available on the Switch version.
  • Supports more players in multiplayer compared to Switch 1. Players on Switch 2 can play with 5 players in the Antiquity age and Exploration Age and up to 8 players supported in the Modern Age at launch.
  • Increased performance. Players will experience increased framerate performance compared to the Switch version.
  • Supports GameChat functionality. Players can take advantage of the new GameChat** feature on the Switch 2 while playing multiplayer with friends.
From my understanding this means that the Switch 2 Version will have no limitations compared to the other consoles.

It also find it interesting that Firaxis has outsourced the development of (and so far only?) the Switch 2 Edition:
Is Firaxis Games developing Civilization VII on Nintendo Switch 2?
Development of Civilization VII on Nintendo Switch 2 is led by Behaviour Interactive, in collaboration with Firaxis Games.
