I'm assuming games are due Jan 02 2002.

We also start with 2 settlers and Alphabet and Bronze Working.

Is this the first game that the new airbase rule goes into effect that Matrix had a poll about? (Airbases are for tactical uses only, not cheaper railroad and farmland)

(The file sizes are also switched in the description, the zip file is 4.92 kB, the .sav file is 68 KB)

    Good Luck Everyone :)

Two "yes"s: it's due at 2nd of january 2002, and using airbases for farmland and railroad won't be allowed, conform the outcome of the poll. (English is such a beautiful language. ;))

...posting a Civ2GOTM that looks playable for me in December, my busiest month of the year!! My life is ruined, and it's all your fault  I just hope my wife is still speaking to me by January 2 :D

Downloaded the game, we'll see how it goes. Need to go see what that airbase poll was all about...

I've not been in this forum for a long time that is because I started to play the game utopia again. I'm even more addicted then I was before (I had a short break from the game).

I'll see what I can do about this months GOTM, deity isn't really my thing,

BTW I have some problems with the my saves from GOTM 10, matrix can't open them. The only person which has been able to open my saves was shadowdale. I tried to send them to him only to get the awnser that he didn't have civ 2 on his computer anymore, :( What I need is someone with civ 2 MGE, not the civ 2 classic patched to MGE (which is the one both Matrix and I use). Please post your e-mail here if you have bought MGE in the store somewhere and don't have the classic to MGE patch. However I don't think it will matter if it's MGE 1.3 or stuff like that.

I also have a question about the causualties menu. I this game where I played fast conquest I realized that I would have to sail over the dateline to get opponents west of me killed fast enough. Well as you all know thrimes sink 50% of the time if they don't stay on the coastline at end of turn. I took the risk to send a ship right out on the ocean some of my ships sank and some made it. To get to the question, why doesn't it show up in causualties that I lost 4 settler and 2 thrimes? Now it only shows the unit (only lost one, :)) I lost in combat, is it supposed to be that way?

Well I finished my game in 1200 bc with 75 points by conquest. I think that was a really good score, :) I was very lucky with huts in the beginning (got poly really fast) and was even more lucky when the blue civ got killed. Then I scouted like crazy and killed everything in my way, had great luck to find al the civs as fast as I did. But I'm also getting scared of what could have happend if I had not lost 4 settlers on the sea, then my time would have been even faster.

I hope someone can help me with the saves, :)

    Hahaha, :)
Ska adda dig på ICQ, om du har nån (ska kolla när jag postat). När det är gjort ska jag tala om för dig hur man spelar civ 2, LOL!

    Translation

I'll add you to my ICQ-list if you have the program (will check when I have posted). When that is done I'll tell you how to play civ 2, LOL!

BTW, a skrytmåns is someone who think he is really good at something but he isn't...

Why did I have to be born in this language, I can't speak english, sorry for all spelling misstakes and such stuff, don't post grammar corrections since they wont help me at all. Over all DON'T READ THIS POST! If you've read it already may I introduce you to seven unlucky years, :)

Sure Chofritz. I would like to play a multiplayer game with you. Then if I see that you are superiour to me (or much better), maybe you can tell me what I do wrong. We don't have to play against each other.

I am sorry, but I have had my suspicions that you reload your games, hope you can prove me wrong :).

    My icq nr 29908547.

Of course I'll play you, :)

I've only played multiplayer once (with smash) :) We got to the pyramids but after our connections broke (happend about 5 times, ) we gave up, ;) However contact me on ICQ and we can set a time, or post one here that fits you, :) However I wont be able to play a full game since I have a 56k and pay for every minute I surf, ;)

Matrix could you please submit my game even though you can't open it? My score was 75 point in 1200 bc, someone must be able to open them. Shadowdale could...

I have a store bought copy of Civ II MPG. Zip your files and send them over to me here.

I'll see what I can do.

What you sent me over was .dat file. What program are you using to Zip them? They should be a .zip file, or if they are not zipped a .sav file.

I can't do anything with what you sent over. :(

Hmmm... What I sent to you was a macintosh savefile... I don't have any program on the macintosh to zip them with, :( But I didn't have to zip them when I sent them to Shadowdale. Try to rename it .sav and open it...

I'll send them over again on monday when I have access to that computer again... Remember it's a macintoshsave and that's probably why it's not named .sav

Well, there's the problem right there then. I don't have a Mac. I'll see if Genghis can help or knows someone who can.

It's very strange because Shadowdale doesn't have macintosh either... Thanks for helping me anyway, :)

Yes, it is weird. I have opened games from people on Macs before also. I took your saved game and changed it from *.dat to *.sav, which usually does it, but the game couldn't recognize it as a saved game file. :(
