The Great Lion
Has anyone played some of the other strategy games that have come out recently? Besides Civ3, there are several new strategy games on the market in time for Christmas. Here's just a few that I've seen at software stores:
Empire Earth
Star Wars: Galactic Battlegrounds
Acropolis
Cossacks
Battle Realms
World War III
Kohan: Immortal Sovereigns (and its expansion pack)
Monopoly Tycoon
Europa Universalis II
Etherlords
Have you played any of these games? How do they compare to Civ3 (not just whether it is turnbased or RTS)? Are any of them worth looking into or buying?
I have played the Kohan game and found it somewhat enjoyable, and as a Star Wars fan, the Age of Empires II spin-off game looks quite interesting indeed! But, truth be told, I'm really interested to hear about Empire Earth or Cossacks. But any comments anyone has about any of these games would be helpful (barring that they not be unproductive critiques, with nothing but contemptuous divel on the glories of CivIII over "inferior games"...I want good, even-handed assessments of the games you've played, and how they stack up feature- and gameplay-wise with CivIII).
Thanks, and Merry Christmas!
