Is it just me or is everyone doing their best to downgrade Civ III :crazyeyes ???

I mean, of all mods here are just some examples:

* Civ1 citizens for Civ3
* Civ2 city icons for Civ3
* Elvis as domestiv advisors in Civ 3

and many more small changes towards Civ1 & Civ 2

I tought we had waited for Civ III to get something new to work with! But everyone seems to work to get Civ 1 & 2 into Civ3, heh

Well, nothing wrong with that, but it just seems a little bit funny to me! :)

Keep on makin great mods!

I guess we just miss the good ol' days.

I mean, while this game is, flawed in certain respects, it is truly immersive in others. Especially the new ressources, bombardments and diplomacy tactics. But WHY did they have to change the interface that actually worked so brilliantly? - I mean why change something that works? -Why exchange brilliantly elegantly simple iconographic design with a fluffy one? :rolleyes:

So while they did their best to streamline everything to this smooth, timeless look, they lost something as simple as menubars, icons (that still look like placeholder art to me), accessability of all the information we're used to.

Why do you have to open the city screen of each and every city, and scroll down a bar to the bottom, to find out which city you've built a wonder in? In the old days, you'd simply check "wonders of the world" in the menu. But the menu has gone, and along is gone a lot of the other menus. Which is a damn shame, since the game hold such great promises in other respects.

We can't get the good ol' days back. But for my part I just wanted to make it taste a little like something I know. :D

Don't know if that's what you want, but F7 brings up a list of wonders. (F8-F11 display other info screens.)
I agree, it's a bit silly that Firaxis didn't add buttons for mouse users, but since I'm using the keyboard were possible, this doesn't bother me much. :crazyeyes

I find the new interface very easy to handle and I love the fact that I don't get any civil disorder messages or WLTK messages...

New setting is fine to me. You still get all those information via the function keys.

World War in most of the games I played so far is lovely!!:love:

The only trouble with the AI is that everyone tends to declare war on almost everyone else :confused: This look more like a chaos warring states to me rather than the usual world war with 2 major group fighting each other :D

And the wait per turn (which can sometimes goes all the way to more than 1/2 hour with animation off [16 Civ on huge map of course]) is almost driving me nuts :crazyeyes

Dark sheer or whatever- just deselect animate friend and enemy moves ;)
that should save you a LOT of time as moi have experienced on his own flesh :rolleyes:
