Rules:
1. Players should present a "reign summary" the nature of which I leave to the disgression of the individual players.
2. Destructive players who merely want to ruin the game will have their reign ignored and will be asked to leave. Please note this does not include people who are merely poor at the game or even new, the whole point to some degree of succession is to recreate the "good" "bad" and "ugly" rulers that history throws up. This is simply targetted at people who may wish to ruin the game.
3. Players should try to not take too long over their "reign"...I think 3 days is fine, longer if you ask for it and it is within reason e.g something came up or it is taking long or you are making a real effort with your "reign summary". The main thing is we know what is happening to prevent the game stalling.
4. Basically use disgression along the lines of "do to others as you would have done to yourself" and there should be no problems...
Numitor, King of Alba, had been ousted by his brutal brother Amulius. Amulius ensured Numitor would produce no heirs sending his only child -a daughter called Rhea- to be a vestal virgin in the temple of Venus (goddess of the hearth).
Rhea Silvia produced twin boys Romulus and Remus and Mars God of War was their father! Amulius fearful slew Rhea and threw her sons into the Tiber River.
The river bore the twins to safety ashore, where they were found by a she-wolf who raised them as her own till Faustulus a shepherd found them and adopted them as his own.
When the twins reahed manhood, Faustulus told them the fate of their mother...in anger Romulus and Remus killed Amulius and restored Numitor to the throne.
When the boys were grown, Faustulus told them who their father was and described their mother's fate. Romulus and Remus avenged he by killing Amulius.
Romulus and Remus set out to become Kings themselves and looked to found a city...Remus meeting his end by mocking Romulus's plans!
Rome was founded on Palatine Hill and was declared it to be a sanctuary. It filled with outlaws, refugees and fugitives who got protection if only to be ruled over by Romulus. By guile other tribes were plunder of their woman and so Romulus gained the power to control the lands around.
Romulus soon died as Mars his father had Jupiter make him a God to join him in the Heavens.

4000 B.C (1)
Kitulus a man of enormous girth and strength and his 10 equally powerful sons took power in Rome. To protect their reigme (one man has the vote) they start conscripting soldiers and hope to create an army of warriors that can extend Roman power beyond our borders.
Enemies of Kitulus are killed or forced to work constructing roads...the first project is to build roads to the south to bring wines and wheat more easily to Rome and to react to uprisings more quickly.
3950 B.C (2)
A deputation of "wise men" present themselves at "The Palace" begging sanctuary and showing what they are capable of. These men had fashioned many items that intrigued Kitulus...who saw how many of them may give his soldiers an edge over adversaries.
Using a fifth of his annual taxes he supports these men's research to uncover the secrets of the Universe, especially those enabling better weapons to be made. The "wise men" seek to fashion metal for war-like purposes to prove their worth.
3850 B.C (3)
The teams of workers complete a road that brings fine wines to Rome, a now intoxicated population revel!
More enemies of Kitulus are sent to extend the roads further south -in chains, the enemies, not the roads.
3750 B.C (5)
A large body of men are now available, not needed for the defense of Rome and without alternate labour prospects are armed and sent North to find treasure and new lands.
Traders in the Adriatic Sea report a large body of warriors on the far shore...towards this location Rome directs her warriors.
