Civ3 Screensaver and Civ3

Hi there,
Can someone who has the civ3 screen saver answer a simple question for me?
Do the unit animations in the actual game of Civ3 look the same as the ones on the screen saver? I'm playing Civ3 on a P166 and the unit animations have a very low frame rate. I'm just wondering if they are as good in the game as on the screensaver.

But you don't get to see all the units though.
