Civ4 Mission Infos

How do i set a unit to a specific mission once it gets put into play? I'm sure i have to use python to do it, but am unsure on on how to change the current mission of a unit automatically. Like having the "Workers Start Automated" option turned on, but with other units (like missiles) starting asleep.
