Civ5 G&K gets stuck at loading screen when starting a new game

Hi all, I just got this game, and i still haven't played it. whenever I start a new game or tutorial, it hangs on the loading screen where the narrator reads about the leader. it never crashes or gets stuck, it just keeps loading, and the music still plays. help please

yup, happened to me back on g&k... always loaded ages during the narrator and get back after a while, fixed in bnw though
