I'm very dubious, too, given I have unrelated, but, "unregistered," computer files. And, I don't all of what it will take liberties with - uninstalling previous iterations of Civ?Fair.
My issue with denuvo is you give them unrestricted kernel level access to your entire PC, and you give them permission to disable or uninstall any software it deems, not just the software you installed Denuvo with.
Other people have different issues with denuvo, but that's why I will never install anything that has it.

2K often removes Denuvo ~6 months after release, so if you refuse to install it, you may be able to out-wait it.
Still it‘s a shame. We, the players and customers, we don‘t want it, and they know exactly that we don‘t want it, but the companies keep trying to force us to accept it… i‘m not going to support that behaviour.
