CivG3SG - Warlord Training Day Game

I have set up the game and were playing as the Myans and I have 5 Random AIs set up for us :).

1. Chichen Itza has been founded. I have sent the warrior south to mine the grasslands.

I think you mean you sent the worker south to mine the grassland;)

pre - turn: check everything, familiarise myself with whats going on. Hit enter.

turn 1 3050BC: Chichen Itza: Warrior -> Warrior (we need to get exploring so we can meet the other nations).

Explore a little with our warriors.

turn 2 3000BC: exploration, find a hut SW of our capital, will try to pop it soon.
Move worker SE to mine BG square

turn 3 2950BC: exploration.

turn 4 2900BC: Chichen Itza: Warrior -> Javelin Thrower
Worker, build mine.
exploration.

turn 5:2850BC: Copan: Warrior -> Worker (need to get the city radius developed ASAP) Fortify Warrior.
Pop Goody Hut, get Alphabet!!
exploration.

turn 6 2800BC: exploration.

turn 7 2750BC: Worker, build road.
exploration.

turn 8 2710BC: exploration.

turn 9 2670BC: We discover Bronze Working, set to Writing. (The AI can be a little slow going along this path in my experience so we MAY be in for a chance with a scientific leader, i know we arent scientific but also

the beeline to philosophy gains us a free tech for our effort.)
Copan: Worker -> Javelin Thrower. Worker to the NW to build a mine.
exploration.
Worker: moved closer to copan to build road and connect cities.

turn 10 2630BC: Chichen Itza: Javelin Thrower -> Settler.

Thats all for me, think i may have hit enter once more by mistake( civGeneral is always wait at end of turn enabled, i didn't check.) the date of the save is 2590.

A screen shot of our empire

Ther's 2 nice choke point there if we put a warriorr on it we can expand our entire peninusla thing.

I think the short term goals should be to settle the penninsula we are on and the one to the SW, i agree on holding the northern chokepoint. I would say with a spearman on the hill next to the lux on the far side of the chokepoint. We would probably want a city there eventually anyway.

In the meantime, i decided to try my hand at a real rough dotmap.

Legend:

Red : Good backfilling cities. little empty space, not much overlap, each has access to at least 1 bonus food.

Blue: Advancement type cities: This is where things got real tough. No grid was on the map posted, which made things a little hard to calculate, so this is quite rough.

I didn't go down the peninsula since that will be secondary, since it appears to be closed.

Light greenish: These are the most questionable. The southwest one doesn't have much food access. By moving
them we could get a better cutoff on the landbridge. Hmm.

Yellow: Priority. Cut off the landbridge and get access to the luxuries.

Let me know what you think.

Edit 1: Opps. Colour blindness strikes again!
Edit 2: Apparently my boredom knows no bounds today. Added in a rough grid in paint. Clearly a misuse of my computer resources at the laboratory.

Bah. I will play it tonight, then, and take the heat tomorrow.

Edit: Nope. Chickened out. I had one too many "pops" at the pub anyway.

Im back, Ill check the save tommorow I just hope the wireless internet on campus is relyable.

Ok, I have looked at the save, and they all look good.
Theorykid, youre up :D.

Alright. Here we go...

General: Not a great teritory to start in. Only 1 source of water, and we will have to do a lot of irrigating to get it anywhere useful. On the upside, we should be able to settle the whole thing due to the chokepoints.

0 (preturn, 2590).
Everything looks pretty good. No changes.

Deep breath, hit enter.

1 (2550) Keep exploring.

2 (2510) Worker finshes road. The lack of fresh water is disturbing to my demeanor.

3 (2470) zzz.

4 (2430) zzz.

5 (2390) Fortify warrior at northwest choke.

IT- Chichen Itza:Setter-javelin

6 (2350) Send settler to southeast, to found a good settler city. Escorted by javelin-thrower. (On my dotmap, the red dot beside the wheat)

7 (2310) Adjust slider to 2.8.0 to balance budget. Barb hut precisely where i wanted to put city.

8 (2270) Javelin attacks warrior barb. Javelin wins, no damage.

9 (2230) Javelin attacks warrior barb. Javelin wins, no damage. (no slaves, though.)

IT: Palace upgrade.

10 (2190) Southern Warror finished exploring peninsula. It is empty and closed. Found Palenque at
southern red dot on dotmap.

Change Chichen Itza from Javelin-granary. Copan will finish a javelin first anyway.

And the save:

Hmm. I've never done this before, so i hope it works.

Sorry guys, I lost my turn report. I'll try to sum up what I accomplished.

1. We discovered the wheel from a goody hut
2. I managed some science to gain money, and we learned writing and are due for philosophy
3. To the north-west are the Americans, up iron working on us
4. To the north are the Aztecs, up iron working on us, but we're up ceremonial burial and writing on them.
5. Enslaved a worker with jav thrower
6. Found new city on theorykid's red dot southwest of Chichén

Damn, can't believe I lost it:(

Oh well hope I didn't forget anything, I suggest everyone look at the Save
