Civilization 7 Leaders Dialogue Translations

So Ada Lovelace speaks English, obviously. Simon Bolivar will speak Spanish (probably Venezuelan dialect), like in Civ6. Rani Lakshmibai will speak Hindi??? Temujin/Genghis Khan will speak Mongolian.

Can any German speakers comment on Friedrich's dialogue. Is it just Modern German?

It‘s modern standard German. No Berlin dialect or 18th century German whatsoever and so far no French lines.

so Catherine the Great speaks fluent modern Russian according to those in her thread.

And to my great disappointment they missed an elephant in the room with her. She was born, to quote her Civilopedia entry, "a Prussian princess named Sophie of Anhalt-Zerbst". So she was a native German speaker who, naturally, had a German accent while speaking Russian, although accounts on how thick it was vary.
I'm surprised how Firaxis managed to miss this, when in previous installment we had another Catherine, de Medici, speaking French with an Italian accent and Napoleon with Corsican accent in this one.

And what happened to her voice actress, Svetlana Migdissova? In the Civ5 she had crispy good Russian, I had the same vibe from her Russian as with Elizabeth's English. And that is probably because both VA are language coaches, as far as I remember.
Here I had hard time figuring out the beginning of her line when you choose her

I thought that the beginnig was "будешь же" (you shall), not "будем же" (let us). And yes, I agree that the word "бескровный" (bloodless) is misused here.

If you look up her First Look thread, Andrew Johnson addressed this. He said basically it would have been more work to find a German-accented Russian VA and that it would have confused a lot of people in the audience. I agree that it's too bad.

I've added the English translations of their lines (as well as the actual lines for Ben and Harriet) from the Civ wiki to this thread.

Surprisingly, Xerxes is voiced by an Argentinian voice actor.

Pachacuti's Quechua sounds different from the Civ6 one. Dunno if he's not fluent or it's because of his voice.

Isabella seems to say:

Yo soy Doña Isabel, monarca destos reinos y señoríos. La reina cierta de ti, siempre. La reina... es siempre cierta.

I'm not entirely confident about the second sentence, but this would translate as:

I am Doña [Lady] Isabel, monarch of these lands and estates/dominions. The true queen of you, always. The queen... is always true.

Destos is an older form of de éstos ("of these"), and she seems to pronounce y as "e", which might be trying to approach the Old Spanish word for 'and'?

Her declare war reaction (from here) seems to be:

Vos solamente fazeis/fazéis(?) mártires.

Which matches the in-game text of:

You only make martyrs.

Of note, she uses vos, the formal you, seen as archaic in some Spanish-speaking locations. She also uses an older version of the word hacer "to do; to make": fazer. Not exactly sure how it's spelled, however.

Which matches the in-game translation. Pretty obvious, but hey.
