Civilization 7 Soundtrack/Music discussion

I think there's some extra tracks for sure, honestly I'd be surprised if there weren't, there's not nearly enough pieces to fill in the space otherwise. I also think there may be a war declaration sting used when a war is declared.
I mean, there has to be ambient music, there's no way they expect us to listen to one track on repeat at the beginning of the game.

What they did in 6 was they would play other met player's music as well, but yes, I agree, I highly doubt there isn't ambient music.

From previews, this appears largely the same in 7. I’ve definitely heard themes of other civs and a few unrecognized ambient pieces during playthroughs.

The difference from 6 seems to be the fact that older era civ themes will still play in the future, as opposed to being fully replaced with the more contemporary renditions of the same theme (well, the latter is just not a thing in 7). So, in theory, it should provide more tune variety than 6.

That's good, I hated the late-game music in Civ 6 so this is nice (the Civ 7 modern civ music is nice)

I haven't loved most of the Modern Age music in Civ7, but I haven't hated it either, which is definitely a step up from the Civ6 Atomic and most of the Industrial themes.

That's a surprisingly bold pop of color on the illustration. I approve.

I think this is my favorite of the Modern Age themes so far.

Yup, it’s the one from the Switch trailer indeed.

And I don’t know whether it is intentional or not by the composer (most likely is, come on), but you can hear how the more traditional Japanese instrumental arrangement gradually turns into a more Western orchestral rendition by the end. Makes perfect sense for Meiji.

It's up there with Siam for me.

Great blend of traditional Japanese and Western instrumentation, fitting for an empire known for its successful westernisation. The militaristic touch fits too, given Empire of Japan's expansionism in late 19th and 20th Century. I like how measured and orderly the orchestral parts sound, too. And since I especially enjoy darker themes, this one is right up my alley.

Let me guess, those themes had too much bombast? Honestly, I do enjoying listening to all the Industrial and Atomic themes in Civ6.

I wished they brought back Civ5's War themes though, maybe in Civ8?

Anyone know what music Meiji Japan's theme is based off of?

Are the Mughals and Prussian themes the only ones left that we haven't heard yet?

really disappointed with all three Chinese themes honestly. I don't think there's a single one that's particularly memorable

I saw some comments on youtube saying that Meiji Japan's theme might be based on the Japanese song Kagome Kagome (かごめかごめ). What do you all think about this?
