Civilization 7 Soundtrack/Music discussion

Now that Prussia's gotten a guide, we expect their theme to be added to Youtube soon. Can't say I'm the biggest fan of Germany's Civ themes though. They sound slow, depressing or overly serious.

Are Mughals really the last Civ to be revealed? Is there a reason Firaxis saved them for last? perhaps controversy in a very Hindu India over the Muslim Mughals representing them in game?

No associated leader, good time to remind people to connect their accounts to get Napoleon.

I don’t recall FXS having any track record of having a meaning behind the last reveals, especially in base game. So I’ll just defer to “something had to be last, that’s how ordering works”.

Not my taste, sadly

Certainly an improvement over Civ VI's outright depressing German theme.

Not a favourite which I will hum much, but I must say, the brass that kicks in at 2:48 is delightful. It inspires feeling of pride and optimism in me.

They put the Spain/Mexico color filter over the painting instead of the blue-gray UK/Germany filter, rookies /s
It's just all the smog from the industries.

Very austere. Someone here said German themes always end up being unusually forboding. They're sticking with the brand it seems..

I actually prefer the German themes in Civ5 and Civ6 to be honest. Lots of Youtube comments saying this music isn't "Prussian". I wonder what music Rizzo based it on.

I predict that Geoff Knorr composed the Mughal theme. We already got three consecutive music compositions by Roland Rizzo.

Likely, considering that we've already heard six Rizzo's themes in modern (Qing, France, Russia, Buganda, Meiji Japan and Prussia) but only three Knorr's (Mexico, United States and Siam).

I am very curious about that one - both Maurya and Chola sound wonderful to me. I hope India strikes a hattrick on the field of great themes.

I liked Live Gloriously when it was first released but as I've watched more and more previews, it has really grown on me. Works well as the "setup" / menu music imo, makes me want to jump right into a game. Been singing it all week!

Same. It's a grower for sure. At first I thought it was ok, but it's better after a few listens. There's a lot of layers to it!
