>> Order Civilization Chronicles from Amazon.com

Sweet, you can get this plus Smallville Season 5 on DVD for only $110.

YES!!!!!

:woohoo:

The only item not included is the Civ4 Warlords expansion pack.
So Fantastic Worlds and Conflicts in Civilizations (expansion packs for Civ 2) are not listed but there anyway?

If you already have some of the games in Chronicles, but are thinking about buying it anyway would someone be interested in selling some of their already owned games?

I don't think you can break up Chronicles without breaking copyright or something, but if you already have some of the pieces individually then I think you can sell those. (Could someone correct me if I'm wrong?)

I'm interested in Civilizations IV and the two expansion packs for Civ III. (Did Conquests include everything in Play the World anyway?) I'm thinking it would be worth maybe $40 CDN (I realize it is lower than the selling price, but I have waited this long ...) I'd prefer if there is someone in Canada as that makes the shipping simpler for me.

I only want original CDs - I'm not interested in a copy.

(Does someone know if there is a place on eBay to look for this - I see dirt cheap versions from Thailand and I figure that can't be legal for sale in North America)

Right. Originally they were going to include the vanilla Civ2 and the two expansion packs, but in the last minute they decided to include Civ2 Gold instead after I told them Civ2 Gold is needed to play many scenarios we have in the downloads collection. Also, Civ2 Gold includes multiplayer.

someone ought to tell amazon they missed Civ IV in their feature list o.0, i'd think that would be pretty big, along with the other extras....now to get the money to buy this....:lol:

Product Features

* Sid Meier's Civilization I
* Sid Meier's Civilization II
* Civilization II expansions - Fantastic Worlds, Conflicts in Civilization, Test of Time
* Sid Meier's Civilization III
* Civilization III expansions - Play the World, Conquests

edit: oh there it is, down at the bottom, ah well, least the info is in there somewhere xD

Couldn't they include CivII vanilla and MGE, instead of just MGE? They included all other vanillas.

Dunno why you'd want Civ2 vanilla when you can have the MGE; the only difference, iirc, is that MGE allows multiplayer (doesn't REQUIRE it, of course). I can't recall if TOT allowed multiplayer or not, or if it's compatible with MGE or requires it or what the deal is. I do seem to recall that TOT had the ability to play regular Civ; you were not forced to play on additional worlds, but you had the option to.

Now to what I wanted to say....

I already have all those games. Sure, it'd be nice to have everything all on one DVD, but you know what? I don't play anything but Civ4 now (a bit more literally than I might like), and God only knows if the older ones will even work on my machines (I'm not a Windows-upgrade-Monkey, I'm still sticking with what's cheap and works (mostly) in MY favor), so all those games are useless to me.

The only *NEW* stuff is the card game and the development videos and book (and is it a history of Civ, or civilization?). Out of all that, I really just want the card game. Any chance these will be sold seperately some time soon at my FLGS (Friendly Local Game Store), perhaps for a modest price ($20 range)?

yeah, only thing im intereste din is the card game. don't know why, but i am.

Titi: Civ 2 MGE includes both of those expansions and is compatible with all the mods and stuff, so there's no reason to have vanilla Civ 2 in there.

TheDS: The book is a history of the franchise. A history of civilization would be a bit longer than 96 pages. :)

-Tomasz-: Even if there were a reason to include Civ 2 vanilla (and I don't know why you would want to), we wouldn't have the disc space anyway. As it is, we crammed Civ 2 MGE, Civ 1 and Test of Time onto a single CD!

Broken Hawk: There are no plans to sell the card game separately at this time...Chronicles is the only way to get it.

CornMaster, Thunderfall, 2K_jason: thanks for the info (I understood "Gold" was "Multiplayer Gold Edition", and I thought MGE was only a multiplayer Civ 2, so didn't have CiC not FW.)

Well, maybe I'll buy it anyway. I would like a copy of Civ I. :)

Can anyone review Civilization I from this package?

Can anyone tell us more about the card game?

Neither of these will be covered by any game site, it seems.

I think it's awesome that 2k released the source code for Civ IV. I can't believe this didn't get more attention (can you host seminars on MSDN to spread the word a little more?) This package looks really cool, and I'll buy it as soon as my pc can run Civ IV... :( And I bought my laptop just last year!

I initially thought these would be "remastered" games on the Civ IV codebase, since Firaxis made the customizability/programmability of Civ IV such a big selling point. Is it even possible? Has anyone tried this (duplicating the original game in a modern Civ engine)? I just loved the original's pacing, battle system and tech tree. It's probably just nostalgia talking, but except for not having hit points on the units, it's think it's the best civ I've played.

This was my first post, so I'd like to thank the people behind civfanatics for everything you have here, it's terrific. Keep it coming.

Not having CIV4 yet, I will probably get this compilation.
Only downside to me is that Civ3C people from the beginning have bought Vanilla Civ3 for 3 times already.

Shoot you can even turn the computer off and play the card game or actually read the book.

The question is---are the goodies worth $50 now that vanilla Civ4 will probably hit $20-$25 soon?
Probably 'yes' just to say thanks to Sid.
