Civilization IV 4 Macintosh?!

I'm a Portuguese Macuser, and a civlization addict (I'm seriously considering to join Civanon).
But what about a Macintosh version of Civlization IV? Firaxis hasn't yet released a Mac version of their latest loveable game Pirates!.
Does it mean that we Macusers are condemmed not to play Civlization 4 as well as Pirates!?!

Not sure how long it would possibly take. As I understand it, the Gamebryo engine used for the graphics is incompatible with the Mac's design. An easy port is not likely to be possible. However, I would be surprised if the effort wasn't made -- Civ is too big a cashcow not to trying and hit the Mac market with.

It might be ported, but it'll probably take a while.

? I played civ 4 on a mac around a year ago. It's available for mac on steam.
