I didn't know Ulm was in Civ V!
Perhaps the ship was not inside the city, but in the waters and was "pushed" by the the changing borders.
I bet there's Krakatoa in that FoW.
Isn't krakatoa one of the natural wonders?
I don't get what's supposed to be funny about this screenshot...
I think it's that he has his Rifleman UU when he hasn't even researched industrialization, so not rifling.
I thought it was either that there's a big ocean there (which isn't THAT funny, really...) or that one of his Norwegian Ski Infantry units has been killed and also earned a promotion.
its 1995 and he does not have factories yet?
Huh. .. he didn't even explore the bottom areas of the map yet...
I thought it was that the Danish territory on the MiniMap is shaped like a dragon and the unexplored ocean looks like it's breathing a puff of smoke.
I dunno if anybody have posted something similar but here goes:
Someone is pulling a Maginot Line here (And the have the same success)
i encountered few more maps where islands shaped like turky but forgot to take screenshot..
I can't stand fog still on the map that late in the game. I know I invest far too many resources in scouting units and caravels just so I can have a complete map as soon as possible.
i just let loose a knight and 5-7 caravels to explore. Knights are the fastest moving unit at the time so it can search land areas ASAP.
Caravels in most maps have more line of sight which makes it easier for exploration. Except for the brave new world deluxe scenario where the Caravels don't have a bigger line of sight.
Someone will have to explain that latest screenshot. Seriously, give a damn description for confusing and blatant unfunny screenshots!
Or, more accurately, just rename this thread "Civilization V screenshots"
You know, even if it isn't completely (or at all) clear about why a screenshot is supposed to be funny, there's still not much reason to flip about it and blatantly attack the poster. Granted some clarification would be nice for many of these screenshots, but nonetheless I think you need to calm down a little.
I'm not very good at scouting myself - but often I find this works for me, because city states will start asking for new natural wonders. When I finally start exploring around renaissance era, I will sometimes get +40 influence with more than 5 city states each time I find a new natural wonder. Cheapest influence ever.
