Because if it was a actual screenshot (taken through iOS, which is the only way to take screenshots), it will have a resolution of 960 by 680 (since gameloft will be running it on iphone 4).

It's incredibly easy to paste some terrain images, cut out the UI and scale them, and add some text.

It is announced for more than only apple devices ;).

Which is pretty valid if it will look in this way at the end ;).

Sounds like how they made...Oh never mind. ;)

I suppose the screenshots could be faked. I am not sure why someone would bother to do that though.

Also, I am still not sure why there is a bomber and an artillery in the second millenium BC. That does seem to be a little suspicious.

Just a question : the release is very soon or not ?

Creating maps, scenarios, mods will be possible on most mobile devices ?
    Or only the tablets ?

I will see on Gameloft website...

This. Either Firaxis is way too good playing or this is fake. I hope that Firaxis is not trying to blind us with pretty good screenshots. :c5unhappy:

Anyway, I don't think I'll buy it, since I don't think my phone will survive loading Civ and also I'm alredy happy with Civ5 for PC.

I put my money on late August, maybe even the first few days of September. To pick a date, 25th the earliest.

But no confirmation as yet? I've had a look at the Gameloft-site, but couldn't find anything about it.

It looks like it is true.....if you go to their site and go under the news section and then click on the article about their half year 2011 line up it's in there....

Strange in some ways that Gameloft is doing this and not 2K China (which admittedly made a semi decent port of Civ Rev but did a very good one of Pirates)...... Maybe so they can port it to Android and other devices simultaneously because they don't have the resources or don't want to commit that many resources to?

  15. Now this I like. Why? Because on the phone I would find ciV actually worth playing.

Amen. Ever since I got an Ipad2 I thought how awesome it would be to have Civ5 on it. And I mean the full featured version. Aside from prcoessing power (adjust the graphics?), the IPad2 could totally handle Civ5, no? I mean Civ5 is a one hand on mouse game with point and click mechanic, so why shouldn't your figner simply replace the mouse and leave everything equal?

I am no coder and no hardware specialist, so I don't know what other obstructions could be there, but it should be possible to have an almost 1:1 port to Ipad, no?

    How I would love that...

I'm supposing that like Majesty : Fantasy Kingdom Sim, it will be more simple that computer version...

But the essential mechanics would be preserved for more fun ;)

Because computers have different things not so well thinked ("pensées")...

Ipad/Iphone version or competitors' same things have "touch system" which is more intuitive in my humble opinion...

I'm supposing that release of Civ5 Mobile is in fact in two-three days from today...

I really like the idea of a proper Civ game on the go./ CivRev is just too limited though I had fun with it.

I'm thinking along the lines of a stripped down Civ4 or Civ5 with proper diplomacy but sped up a bit.

What I didn't really appreciate is CivRev can be played best as an always war game and the way borders and exploration work is so awful most of the planet is often empty.

Sid Meier’s Civilization® V: The Mobile Game : The worldwide strategy game phenomenon is coming to feature phones! Based on the award-winning and best-selling franchise from 2K Games and Firaxis Games, become ruler of the world by establishing and leading a civilization from the dawn of man into the space age. Wage war, conduct diplomacy, discover new technologies, go head-to-head with some of history’s greatest leaders and build the most powerful empire the world has ever known.

    Conduct diplomacy?

Please stop lying firaxis just say its a wargame

Why are they releasing new things they should fix diplomacy of civilization 5 and all the other bugs we are talking about in this forum

Its like they are trying to get as much money out of the civilization series because they dont gonne make a new part

opinion about game : For the game it looks cool and funny

The idea of conducting diplomacy is laughable I'll admit.

As for the franchise, it does indeed look like they are milking that cow for all its worth before putting it on the slaughter block.

That is the Activision way of doing things and perhaps 2K Games has been taking notes.

    Hope I'm wrong of course.

The mobile game itself does look cool and funny I will concede.
