Glad to see some old unique improvements get some love! Makes me look forward to (eventually getting around to) playing them again!

And I'm glad I didn't get too dependent on pillaging. Good nerf. And good buff to Harold.

Is there still a livestream in a few hours? Or did they replace it with this video?

Looking forward to the climate change adjustments, too.

And did I see that the Mahabodi Temple gets you a DVP now? Interesting tweak.

My first thought was few, no new geographical features :)

I'm glad I got to play with them before the nerf, crazy fun yields, but, yeah, the change is appropriate.

I suspect it's been changed to force players to focus more on creating new units than upgrading existing units. If anything, it will be slightly more annoying than before.

Anyone get a screenshot of those old unique improvement changes? I'm on mobile and couldn't make them out.

Looks like more adjacency bonuses if next to wonder. Not sure if there are other changes.

They still need to nerf England again and un-break the Wall system (specifically Rams and Siege Towers.)

They might not be huge fans of the "produce everything early, then upgrade it forever" meta, but Professional Army and production costs are the bigger problem with that than base update costs since the human player can account for those more easily than the AI.

I gasped when they said Civilizations, but of course it was just tweaks to existing civs. Wasn’t expecting any new civs, but that made my heart skip a beat.

Well, the meta for Civ 6 always strongly recommended building all your units by the classical era, as it is way cheaper to upgrade your units throug the ages than to hard build them later. I suppose that this principle will not change significantly as long as they don't increase the upgrade costs exponentially.

As for the AI, on higher levels, gold could not have been the reason for not upgrading units as they are all swimming in money. I don't know whether resource requirements will be affected by this update, that could truly hurt the AIs.

I mean. I mean. What. I mean. What. I mean.

    WHAT EXACTLY IS GOING ON!?!

They've had, what, 45 days or something? Not long. 45 day. Or something. 45!?!

    And. And.

And, this is all really, really good stuff.

And, I mean, er, India is getting amenities? And Pillaging is getting fixed? And Norway is, say what now? And the Cheteau? And Sphinx?

    And climate change?

    And we're getting map tacks?

And their saying there will be more in the patch notes?

And they're saying there will be more support after this?

    AND THEY HAVENT NERFED ENGLAND?

    Ahem.

This looks good. This looks just, well, really good.

    They all looked very cheeky.

Well done Ed and co. Very well done.

@Sostratus Let's hope they keep reading your posts.

The patch notes for the inital release of Gathering Storm read that Sphinxes can be built next to each other, but in the image above it reads that they cannot. I wonder if they've gone back on that...

It appears so, but they buffed up the yields.

Majority of the update is for only GS, hopefully next patch cycle will include older mechanics also getting some love.
i am still waiting for the fix that those unique improvements are not destroyed when another civ takes over the city.
Climate change is even slower now , can we have an option at the start menu like the disasters ?

What is your favorite summer patch improvement?

chateau used to give +2 if adjacent to at least one wonder, now will give +1 for each adjacent wonder. I'd call that a downgrade.

I'm torn between tweaked Climate Change and toned down to (probably) reasonable levels pillaging, but as you can choose not to pillage, but can't choose not to be affected by CC, I think improved CC wins :)
    And World Builder! -
