Civilization VI Leader Royale

Absolutely not. No, no, no, no, no no no no no. No. I hate his stupid face so much. Never in the history of Civ, and possibly never in the history of video games, has a character so perfectly embodied Backpfeifengesicht.
Exactly why I didn't have him advance. XD Sure, he's immensely famous the world over, but I know for a fact that a whole lotta civ fans want to smash his face.

Let me see if I can predict: (These aren't necessarily my favorites though)
Group 1: Gilgamesh (Gilgabro is basically a meme at this point, though I'd like Cyrus out of the group personally)

Group 2: Tamar (same as above).

Group 3: Gitarja (Barbarossa was a close second but I can see the waifu votes pour in) :mischief:

Group 4: Montezuma (I don't see any of the others having the same personality as he does)

Group 5: Hojo (Hojo has been a fan favorite from the beginning but Ba Trieu is also new and was positively received. I do like Alexander but there's no way he's beating any of them.)

Group 6: Basil II (This one is tricky. I considered Catherine but she is still somewhat controversial and for those reasons I decided against her. Basil on the other hand isn't Justinian or Theodora and everyone is tired of Shaka.)

Group 7: Kupe (By far the most entertaining leader though Jadwiga could make a run with waifu votes again.

Group 8: Mansa Musa :D

Quarterfinals:
Gilgamesh vs. Tamar- Gilgamesh
Gitarja vs. Montezuma- Gitarja
Hojo vs. Basil II- Hojo
Kupe vs. Mansa Musa- Kupe

Semifinals:
Gilgamesh vs.Gitarja- Gilgamesh
Hojo vs. Kupe- Hojo

Finals: Gilgamesh vs. Hojo- Hojo for the win!!!:king:

I love how every Leader in the brackets is looking directly at us menacingly. It's like they're saying, "You'd better vote for me, punk."
They're not very scary.
You left off the most power leader :/
Yes. Where's John Curtin?

"Ha ha ha. It's curtains for you!"

(Looks like Vicky, Ethiopia, Gran Colombia and Brasil are MIA too)

EDIT: Maybe I should read the Firaxis post. 32 leaders from a pool of 58. There's going to be a lot of absentee leaders.

I know that. I guess they're trying to put on their best menacing faces, but still need some practice. :P

It's hard to predict, since each voter has their own criteria. And, unlike politics, there are no parties to sort and formalize voter criteria.

Some voters might pick ones they like to play as. Others might pick ones they think are stronger. Some might choose based on attractiveness.

Can we take a moment to congratulate Eleanor for being the only female leader to advance to round 2?
Those without Twitter want photos. Also, really? She beat Basil II and Shaka?!

Round 1 winners

IMO: Kupe and Gilgamesh were pretty much guaranteed to be winning round 1.Genghis Khan and Hojo were solid picks; Surprised to see Frederick, Eleanor, and Trajan her, Frederick less so.

Group 6 and Group 7 were all quite close, with the runner-up being behind by less than 1% of the vote. On the other hand, Groups 1, 3, and 5 all had pretty significant leads for the winner, around 20% more votes than second place.
I'll admit that I am very surprised to see Eleanor win, I didn't really think that she'd be so popular.

That's why I never play with brackets. I assume things differently. :crazyeye:

Maybe because I'm used to the way things are around here, such as Ba Trieu, Tamar and Jadwiga overall being received positively. I forget the way the general public thinks.

The OP has been updated with a new bracket showing the Quarter-Final matchups. Additionally, I've added a Round 1 winners banner and individual group final voting results for your perusal.

So apparently the voting only lasts around a day instead of what I assumed to be a whole week. Voting for the Quarter-Finals begins May 25th.

Thanks for the effort for those of us who don't use Twitter!

Query: You have Cathy winning group 6, but kryat and his poster said Eleanor won...?

Calling it: Ambiorix will win because he has the most commanding mustache.
