That's why I think this is a horrible "Battle" and I cannot take it seriously. It all depends on 1) who people like for whatever reason (could even be real world politics) and 2) access to the medium. If there are 4 million Norwegians of which 1% votes Norway purely out of nationalistic pride, and the same goes for the US, it's already quite a huge difference.

@Vandlys I don't think that you're supposed to take it "seriously". It's a silly game on Twitter.

I rewatched it at the start of the pandemic. So good.

That's what I tell myself when I watch the "Masked Singer." That still doesn't stop me from wondering why certain people make it through that can't sing but are voted through based off of how entertaining they are and good at dancing/rapping well.

That's why I stopped watching singing competitions. They devolve into popularity contests, and half the time you end up with finalists who can't sing on key and have no talent beyond belting (spoiler: the person who belts the loudest wins, even if they are belting off key, because it's the only skill the general viewing public seems to appreciate :p ). That's also why I'm not sad I don't have Twitter to participate in this popularity contest: its arbitrary nature would inevitably frustrate me. :p

Funny enough I do have a twitter account. I've never tweeted and haven't really gotten on it. At this point in time it's been probably close to 5 year, or more, that I've forgotten my password and I haven't really bothered to try to remember or change it.

I had to get on Twitter briefly for professional reasons about seven years ago, but I didn't stick around any longer than I had to and haven't been back since.

It's also possible the polls appear for non players and then the result becomes totally disconnected from the game.
That could be an explanation for Seondeok!

Ahhhh that's a scary thought. Depending on how many players see it compared to non-players, this'll turn from a popularity contest to a beauty pageant...

(Which probably explains how Ambriorix, Gilgamesh, and Eleanor got where they did )

My bracket is totally shot. I had Trieu and Joao moving up pretty far. The former is my own go-to leader when I play (I usually do a culture/domination strategy), and I think they're both well-animated and well-designed. But alas...

You had Joao over Kupe?
Guess I don't feel that bad anymore about my initial bracket. :mischief:

To be fair, had Joao been in another bracket with less beloved Leaders, he could have had a good chance of going into the next round. But with Kupe in his bracket, his chances were not that much. :p

I agree that if if were against Alexander, Gandhi and Shaka he would have won in a landslide. :p

Counterpoint: Shaka is shirtless and has abs, which seems to be the major qualifier in this contest. :p

To be fair, I doubt he would beat Gandhi. I still see way too many people making Gandhi nuke jokes in the Youtube comment section >.>

They should have had Chandragupta. He would have gotten far. :mischief:

OK here is how I do brackets.

In college basketball? What school has the best library.

In this? Who do I personally like playing with.

I understand that Gilgamesh is super popular, but for that reason I can't bring myself to put him too far. Same with Kupe. I understand that this is an entirely dumb way to do brackets - the OPPOSITE way to do brackets. But I have done it, and now I am absolute last in the company rankings.

I suppose if there is no real criteria, I would vote for who is most fun to play as, not who I like most or find most historically interesting or w/e.
