Seems like we’re able to keep playing as “Egypt” when switching to a new civ—looks like Ashoka and Hatshepsut is still there too, so are our leaders static while the civs change?

what was the deal with being able to play as Aksum?

Ashoka and Amina confirmed leaders.

Mauryans, Aksumites, Romans and Songhai confirmed Civs.

Yeah, I'm just genuinely disappointed. There are excellent inclusions of civilizations, but that core gameplay is a turn off

Not a fan of replacing your Civ with another at all... One of my least favorite aspects of Humankind

It also looks like there are restrictions into which Civs you can evolve AND (more importantly) you can switch leaders.

Hattie was able to turn into Songhai, and THEN was given the option to continue playing as Amina.

I don't mind that much tbh. Humankind had some great concepts but was (imho) a boring game. Maybe it's done better in Civ7 ...

duh.... maurya as a civilization???? ,its a dynasty...this is really confusing.
its like calling china the ming civilization or america the washington civilization...makes no sense.

Ashoka into Gandhi probably. And maybe a Mughal leader for the Exploration age.

this exactly. finally addressed blobby civs but at what cost.

Well, they're sort-of right that a Civ should have relevant bonuses for every single era. To that end, 3 eras makes sense and is simple to understand.

More would be less immersive as it involves more switching civs...

But also... expect there to be a future age DLC!
