Some of the categories in the Civilopedia cover all ages, and some of the categories cover only the current age.
- Civilopedia shows only current age information for:
Units;
Technologies;
Civics;
Civilization Specific Civics;
Governments;
Civilizations.
- Civilopedia shows all age information for:
Wonders;
Improvements;
Buildings;
Map (Biomes, Natural Wonders, Resources);
Legacies;
Leaders;
Concepts.
1. I believe this is a (slightly) bad thing, and hope that in the future the Civilopedia will be expanded to cover all ages.
2. Can anyone come up with a reason Firaxis did this? Obviously the Civilopedia has access to all of the Unit descriptions (for example), and Firaxis added extra logic to exclude non-current Age information. I'm not too worked up over this, but it did trip me up a few days ago, and I'm interested in a peek into the mind of someone who thinks this is a good idea.
