CivIV with Windows8?

Can it be done?
I was hoping to load CivIV on the new computer (mostly to keep playing FfH2), but I seem to have some compatibility issues.

Can CivIV be played on PCs using Windows8?
If yes how did you do it?

I'm not familiar with 8 (and hope never to be), but from what I hear Civ IV works fine on 8. With that said, IV can have installation issues if not done correctly. Also, it may depend on where you purchased IV and in what format.

Much of the issues with recent versions of Windows has to due with user security, but there are workarounds for that that are quite simple. You should not have compatibility issues at all.

i can confirm its fine with 8, ran it myself no problems from day 1

Same here. I have no issues using WIN 8.

ironically, it's the only system in the house that will allow me to play C2C.

We've found it runs ok unless you try hotseat multi. That mode is already incomplete, in W8 it's unplayably unstable.
