Civilizations Spoiler : Please note that it wasn't my intent to represent the civs at their greatest extent. That would be hard to draw and wouldn't look nice. The main idea was to associate the ingame civs with their modern counterparts. So in order to keep things plain, many great empires were completely underestimated. The hatched areas may represent: -Overlapped civs: Greece, Byzantine and Ottoman Empire; Arabia and Babylon; USA and the Iroquois. -Countries whose historical or national features are used by a different but close civ: Norway's Norwegian Ski Infantry is used by Denmark; Finland's Hakkapeliitta is used as Sweden's UU; Ukraine's Cossacks are used as Russia's UU. Hungary's Hussar is used as Austria's UU. -Regions that share much (history, culture, in-game city list etc.) in common with a close featured civ: Afghanistan, Tajikistan (and Turkmenistan): Persia; Northern Sudan: Egypt; Eritrea: Ethiopia; Jordan and Syria: Arabia; Canadian Borders: Iroquois; Iceland and Greenland: Denmark. -Regions that aren't well represented by the civ they are related to: Western parts of China (Tibet and Xinjiang); Argentina and parts of Chile, since these countries are not so close related to the Incas as are their Northern neighbors; Eastern Europe and the Huns. 2. City-States Spoiler : City-States Summary: Americas: Maritime: Quebec City and Rio de Janeiro. Mercantile: Cahokia. Religious: La Venta. Europe: Cultured: Brussels, Bucharest, Florence, Milan, Monaco, Prague and Warsaw. Maritime: Lisbon, Ragusa and Venice. Mercantile: Antwerp, Genoa and Zurich.
