Civ's features through maps

I associate Greenland with Denmark. Certainly Iceland should be. There's all of Northern Canada for the Inuit.

Iceland is basically in the same boat as Norway; both were part of the nation of Denmark-Norway, but Iceland achieved its independence decades later than Norway did.

Greenland is pretty much an autonomous nation as well, but it is still an official part of Denmark. If an Inuit civ is ever released, they should certainly get Greenland, however.

Uh?
Nunavut + NW-Territories + Yukon + Siberia pass (now, Russia) + Alaska (paid 4M$ --what a deal-- by the USA) + Clovis Era (actually Natives to America??) + Dorsets + Newfoundland.

And yep - the last Ice age (+/-15000BC) migratory patterns as well.

I meant areas that weren't filled in by other civs because the suggestion was to leave the area blank to remind people the Inuit are not in (I felt Northern Canada was sufficient for this).

El Dorado was originally thought to be on the shore of a non-existent lake that was slightly in-land from French Guinea. I have a historical map that even has said lake and a dot saying "El Dorado" so yeah it was actually thought to be there. Of course once maps got better El Dorado got displaced farther and farther west until it ended up in the Columbia/Venezuela region. Fountain of Youth is rumored to be somewhere by St. Augustine, Florida or in the mountains of Venezuela.

Well, it's thought by some that El Dorado's inspiration came from the Zipa of the Muisca/Chibcha people.

Does it matter, though? It's not like those are going on the map :P . I'd drop them somewhere in the Atlantic, where nothing else is going to be added.

Civilizations' map is updated, and a City-States map was added. I feel like I've missed something. Please warn me if that is the case. Also, grammar suggestions are always welcome.

Not every suggestions were addressed in order to keep things in perspective.

About the Aztec's borders, I guess I did not changed them significantly. Although I always have heard they lived in Central Mexico etc., a superficial search [1][2] suggested that their territory wasn't so extensive and was located further south than I thought.

The City-States map is my favorite so far. I mean, look to Europe and its all colorful boot. Dude, it makes me want to see Buenos Aires and its Tango as a Cultural City-State! (Mind that I'm a Brazilian; if I'm saying something like that, then we have a real problem with those City-States...)

I'll update the wonders' maps later this week.

You're welcome. I guess I need a hobby to take this game out of my mind :crazyeye:. Well, D3 is right there.

yeah, does it bug you too when building a Polynesian "city" named Aotearoa?

omg...my eyes! my eyes!

Which is why I released a mod changing the city names to actual cities / villages. Aotearoa is now Parihaka, Samoa is Apia and so on

ah nice.

One day I might get into playing mods. Not quite ready for it yet.
And when that day comes, I will also start looking into making some of my own, contributing to this wonderful game and hoping that someone from the game developers world notices me...one day...:mischief:

In the meantime though, and back on topic, awesome awesome work Liex on these maps! Beautiful stuff.

Updated with the information we recently got, and that mess with the illustrated version of the World Wonders map was hopefully resolved.

Please warn me if you notice I missed something, or if you have any observation or suggestion.

Nice!
About city states:
AFAIK Helsinki is on the Swedish city list, so it's no longer a city state
Genoa is changed from maritime to mercantile

EDIT: Also, Sidon is north of Tyre, not the other way around. You should switch the 2 colours
Was Cape Town changed to maritime? If yes, I missed that change. IIRC it was militaristic in vanilla Civ V

EDIT2: It seems that Budapest is not on the Austrian city list, stays as a city state (based on screenshots). So I'm not sure if Hungary should be partially colored with Austria's color
I know that the UU suggest that (still mad about Firaxis' choice there), but it's still different from Denmark-Norway and Sweden-Finland, as both Oslo and Helsinki was changed from being city states to be on the respective city lists
