Civs: Specific or Not

You could have a combination of the two. A civ could have one trait that was tied to that civ and was their forever. Then there would be another that could change throughout the game. This way you have both an interesting thing in choosing civ and a way to make the civ suit your style :)

The fact of the matter is, all civilizations on this earth come from an original 'root' civilization, which, in turn, comes from the original homo sapiens. There are directions a civilization can take but the possibilies are _infinite._

In short, ALL civilizations in Civilization should be custom given about seven different styles of culture or architecture. MesoAsian, Oriental, European, MesoAmerican, Functional, Classical, and Monolithic. I added MesoAsian because I think the architectural style in India is significantly different than that in Japan or China. The style would also work fairly well for the Ottomans and the Arabs. MesoAmerican would involve the architectural style found in Central America. Functional would be for 'primitive' civs like Zulu, Iroquois, and Aborigine, (it'd be an interesting addition) tribes. Monolithic refers to Sumerian ziggurats and Egyptian pyramids.

There should still be the option of the preformatted civilizations for a speedier setup, and custom civs. Also, to accomodate the custom civs, a series of fairly generic 'talking heads' should be made.
