I recently managed to snag a copy of Civ 1 for Windows off of ebay. It'd been missing from my physical collection for a while so was pleased to finally pick it up. The box is identical to the DOS box, just with a windows sticker on it and the labels changed to reflect the new requirements. Shout out to the requirement for "soundcard with drivers for Microsoft Windows capable of playing Windows WAV sound files". I hope my PC is up to the task
It didn't have the manual, but the technical supplement is there and that has been rewritten with windows info (and strongly implies the manual is just the DOS one and they didn't reprint it).
I had an ancient USB floppy drive lying around and amazingly the disks worked on it, so I can confirm the installer looks like this, and will install to C:/MPS/CIVWIN by default. Sadly the version is still 1.2.0, same as Chronicles and the patch which seems to be the only version still online. I wonder if the US floppy disk release is a 1.0 (and also, where's 1.1?)
