Classic Literature event query

I recently had the classic Literature event to build 7 libraries, and saw two interesting reward options - Library +2 , or an extra scientist for the Glib. I took the library booster as I hadnt yet finished the Glib, but it only affected the Library in my capital and not in every city .
So I reloaded and waited to complete the Glib first before building my 7th library and took the free scientist - now does this scientist obsolete with the Glib or is it permanent?

The reward seems weak compared to National Sports League which gives all colloseums +1 .

Also, is there a cheat available in the game to trigger random events yourself? I just want to try them all and see what they do.

The free scientist stays after the GLib is obsolete.

I think it would be interesting if an option existed to have ALL quests activated for all players. I like randomness and all but so often the quest pops up and my game is going in a different direction and the quest is irrelavant.

I actually like that idea - it would be like a race. The first person to build 7 libraries gets a reward, for example.

Does the AI get quests? And if it does get them, is it programmed to actively pursue them? Most of the rewards are so small it's barely worth it.

Yes the AI does get quests and does pursue them. Check the Event log or event notifications for when an AI completes the quest-or any other random event.

so it sort of looks like a race. you can win it in about 30% of your games.
