The golden age of Nickelodeon! Which shows did you love? Which did you hate? Which had you forgotten? Which characters did you want to hang out with? Were you scared by Are You Afraid of the Dark? Have you got any good YouTube links?

The shows listed in the poll all premeired by 1998. Shows that premeired after 1998 are not classic Nickelodeon! I feel like even 1998 is pushing it too late, but it's ten years ago, and it includes Catdog, arguably classic. Spongebob is not classic yet.

And if you think there were better shows on other channels, you're wrong, but Muppet Babies is up for discussion.

I only ever watched Ren & Stimpy. It was pretty good. The three skits I remember the most are:

Don't pee on the electrical fence.
Log!
Rubber nipples.

Hey Dude and Salute Your Shorts were my favorites.

Too many to list. But most of it are classic Nick Toons, All that, and Kenan and Kel.

I was brought up on a diet of Rocko and Arnold.

Sustainance is required once more!

from that list I watched double dare, wild n crazy kids, are you afraid of the dark, (though slightly ashamed to admit it) i watched Clarissa explains it all, doug(before it got turned into that disney piece of trash), rugrats(until it got turned into a Politically correct masturbatory fantasy and the children had gotten progressively dumber with every new season), guts, i've seen every episode of rocko's modern life at least 30 times, all that, ahhh real monsters, kablam(which is the children's forerunner to robot chicken ), hey arnold, the angry beavers, and catdog(though I wasn't a big fan).

I'd like to think that the shows of my childhood had a bit more class than what they show today, but I'm sure that's just my immense bias.

Kenan and Kel were absolutely hilarious. Him and his orange soda.

Double Dare was pretty cool. So was Are You Afraid of the Dark?

Doug was awesome. Skeeter! Honk honk.

I used to watch Rugrats as well. Rocko's Modern Life and the Angry Beavers were awesome. I sometimes caught Ahhh! Real Monsters but I didn't like that one as much. I also watched Kablam and All That.

Hey Arnold (football head!) was cool, as was Catdog.

And I'm probably forgetting a lot. Good times, though.

Missed one - "You Can't do That on Television". :) I believe that show was the birth of the infamous slime.

My little sister would always watch Nick-At-Nite (I Love Lucy was her favorite show).

"Hey Dude" and "Are you Afraid of the Dark", I vaguely remember, though. I might've watched them a few times.

Kablam was amazing, I liked the melty action figure guy.

Are you Afraid of the Dark? was the best show evah. :D

EDIT: Lucy, would Sabrina, the Teenage Witch count as a "Classic Nickelodeon" show too?

'You can't do that on Television' was the show that launched the network.

"I don't know" was the saying that got you smiled. Mmmmmmm Barfy burgers.

And you forgot 'Danger Mouse' Lucy:nono:.

All That was the funniest "SNL for 11 year olds" ever. I also still kinda like Keenen and Kel reruns late at night...

Ren & Stimpy, Rocko's Modern Life, Hey Arnold, Kenan and Kel, and Kablam were all amazing. Catdog was okay. I miss those shows:( The only thing decent on Nickelodeon now is Spongebob.

I watched a lot of them, because Nickelodeon was my favorite channel growing up. Wasn't into the live shows as much, and I didn't really always make sure that at a certain time I was in front of the TV for a certain show, but I did like Nick.

Which one is the choose your own adventure like show? :(

It's not bias. It's truth.

It never ran on US Nickelodeon, as far as I know. You need a dose of Clarissa, boy!

My favorite All That bit was Vital Information.

Spoiler :
When you step on a crack, you break your mother's back. When you step on a rusty nail, you say “AHHHHHH!”

A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush. A bird in your pants could make it very uncomfortable.

If your grandma gives you a new sweater, it's wrong to wrap it around her neck and squeeze until she turns blue.

If your bra is too tight, it's uncomfortable. If you're a boy and your bra is too tight, I'm uncomfortable!

If your mama has a deep voice and hair all over her back, YOUR MAMA'S A DUDE!

If it's the fourth of July and Santa comes down your chimney, then run like the wind. That ain't Santa!

Everybody likes the smell of Grandma's cooking. No one likes the smell of grandma's pajamas.

A picture is worth a thousand words. A thousand words is worth three and a half chipmunks.

Never put glue on a cow and then taunt him by saying "Sticky Cow! Sticky Cow! Oooh, Sticky Cow!"

There's no real reason to play basketball naked.

Yeah, old school Nickelodeon was the . .. .. .. .. New stuff sucks, but then again, I'm in college, and currently am not high, so maybe I'm the one that's changed.
Cartoon Network had a few, like Dexter's Laboratory, Johnny Bravo, etc. But Nickelodeon pwnd. Still watch CN though, in the form of adult swim.
