Thanks Clinton
This is insane, but then again its Trumpland
At least no one was killed. (this time)

N.C. man told police he went to D.C. pizzeria with assault rifle to ‘self-investigate’ election-related conspiracy theory

A North Carolina man was arrested Sunday after he walked into a popular pizza restaurant in Northwest Washington carrying an assault rifle and fired one or more shots, D.C. police said. The man told police he had come to the restaurant to “self-investigate” an election-related conspiracy theory involving Hillary Clinton that spread online during her presidential campaign.

The incident caused panic, with several businesses going into lockdown as police swarmed the neighborhood after receiving the call shortly before 3 p.m.

Police said 28-year-old Edgar Maddison Welch, of Salisbury, N.C., walked in the front door of Comet Ping Pong and pointed a firearm in the direction of a restaurant employee. The employee was able to flee and notify police. Police said Welch proceeded to discharge the rifle inside the restaurant.

He has been charged with assault with a dangerous weapon.

Police initially said it was unclear what the motive for the shooting was but many in the neighborhood had suspected it might be related to “PizzaGate.”

The restaurant’s owner and employees were threatened on social media in the days before the election after fake news stories circulated claiming that then-Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton and her campaign chief were running a child sex ring from the restaurant’s back rooms. Even Michael Flynn, a retired general who President-elect Donald Trump has tapped to advise him on national security, shared the stories. None of them were true. But the fake stories and threats persisted, some even aimed at the employees’ children. The restaurant’s owner was forced to contact the FBI, local police, Facebook and other social media platforms in an effort to remove the articles.

The guy is a crazy idiot. We could, in another era, be blaming this on role playing games, satanism, video games, porn, comic books or homophobia. You only think you see a reason, but the real reason is because the guy is a crazy idiot.

You can't somehow abridge all kinds of expression and make crazy idiots not be crazy idiots. Anything that is said, done, anything with which people might take offense, will bring out the crazy idiots. Get to the root source of the crazy idiots and support better mental health programs in the USA.

Sure.

But...

Why is a guy being considered for a cabinet post who doesn't have the critical thinking ability to examine a crazy internet rumor and not just repeat it like it was truth?

Oh, because the president elect who is considering him is no better.

He certainly should have vetted his sources better and not repeated what amounts to a cruel satire. Not to minimize this, but I'm relatively sure every media source has, at one time or another, grossly failed to be accurate because of similar circumstances. Want examples? I could dig them up all day.

There is nothing in there that is even remotely in the same league of ridiculousness as "independently wealthy presidential candidate is running a sex ring out of the back room of a Baltimore pizza joint for extra money" and I challenge you to find any "media source" reporting on anything that is in any way comparable in terms of absurdity. Donny Dingbat and his band of merry sycophants are tin foil hatters of the first order. They get their "information" from the cesspool, not the press pool.

It's so preposterous that it's obviously untrue and satire. You're still comparing it to misinformation , but it wildly misses that mark because of how silly it is. It's like http://www.theonion.com/ . Not sure how you quantify satire that's in one or another league, maybe because, to wingnuts, it's borderline believable? Stories from the onion have wound up frequently in news and political discussion over the years.

No one, in his right mind, could believe there's some child ring run by the Clinton Foundation out of the back of a pizza restaurant. That's comedy.

InfoWars gave us this:

And, by extension, gave me my favorite Traitorfish quote of all time:
Looking at the poster again, I also like the way that the baby is cocking its head and looking away from the doctor, as if to show that this is not merely a skeletal Moai-baby, it's a particularly aloof and disinterested skeletal Moai-baby.

Dude, have you ever seen InfoWars?

No. The commentary is too extreme. I know associated press and reuters can still be accused of commentary coverage, particularly in the events/stories on which they choose to focus or sensationalize, but I like to formulate my own opinions and do my own fact-checking. I enjoy reading anyway, and I think I've read enough to have a grasp on "what I'm learning" and "what I'm being fed".

Yeah, and there are people who believe what they read at InfoWars, just as people believe that WWE is real.

Jeez, I forgot how much was going on in this poster. The witch-slash-Jew face, the tiny old lady hands, the Eye of Horus neck tattoo, the goddam paragraph of text on the doctor's lab-coat... If it was a parody, you'd think they were over-doing it.

Nicest thing you can say about these people, they do not feel too strongly bound by everyday notions of common sense.

This gentleman and others are definitely onto something:

Yeh, it's called circular reasoning, they've re-invented the wheel, great job. You can't disprove a negative. You can't prove something not happening is not happening.
Thats not all of it is it? The code language in Podestas mails, the sexualy abusive pictures involving children etc. I have just start looking into this but its big...

Dingbat Donny should be informed. He'd probably want you for a cabinet position.

Not sure why you are attacking me. Are you sick of these rumours and possible implications? So am I.
Why I should have been hired when someone tweeting about it just got fired from cabinet position? I guess thats rationality through contradiction...

Fixed
Idiot continued to insist that Clinton is running a child sex ring, even after the gunman searched the premeis for 45mins looking for secret torture rooms and children chained as sex slaves.
Iam sure that they will find those secret torture rooms any day now, along with all those coal jobs and a wall that mexico will pay for.

The uproar over Mr. Flynn’s Twitter post cast a harsh spotlight on the views that he and his father, Lt. Gen. Michael T. Flynn, aired on social media throughout the presidential campaign. Both men have shared fake news stories alleging that Mrs. Clinton committed felonies, and have posted their own Twitter messages that at times have crossed into Islamophobia.

But their social media musings apparently attracted little attention from Mr. Trump or his transition team before a North Carolina man fired a rifle on Sunday inside Comet Ping Pong, which was the subject of false stories tying it and the Clinton campaign to a child sex trafficking ring.

Hours after the episode, the younger Mr. Flynn, 33, went on Twitter to say that until “Pizzagate” was proved false, it remained a story.

On an unrelated note, whatever happened to that Glenn Beck fellow ? Did they finally get him for raping and killing that teenage girl in 1995 ?

Lets start slow and steady on this, shall we?
11/3 general Flynn has tweeted message with the link to the following article:
http://truepundit.com/breaking-bomb...ldren-child-exploitation-pay-to-play-perjury/
containing among others:
The new emails contain travel documents and itineraries indicating Hillary Clinton, President Bill Clinton, Weiner and multiple members of Congress and other government officials accompanied convicted pedophile billionaire Jeffrey Epstein on his Boeing 727 on multiple occasions to his private island in the U.S Virgin Islands, sources said. Epstein’s island has also been dubbed Orgy Island or Sex Slave Island where Epstein allegedly pimps out underage girls and boys to international dignitaries.
Both NYPD and FBI sources confirm based on the new emails they now believe Hillary Clinton traveled as Epstein’s guest on at least six occasions, probably more when all the evidence is combed, sources said. Bill Clinton, it has been confirmed in media reports spanning recent years, that he too traveled with Epstein over 20 times to the island.
