Thread is. Close battles.

My warrior was on a forested hill and was attacked by a barbarian warrior. This is a record for me. 0.0 strength lol, I wonder if I should continue exploring or wait the millennium that it would take for him to heal.

Anyways lets all talk about some insane battles we have had.

P.S. i finally found out how to access the combat log! yay me!

Press Ctrl+TAB to open up the log viewer and then click the combat log tab. Still can't believe my warrior was taken down to 2 hp when they had 1.2% odds.

Edit--- too slow :(

In my current game, I had a catapult surviving a battle with 2,3% odds in its favor. It has 0.2 hit points afterwards. I renamed the unit and took great care not to lose my heroes. :)

I've had all kinds of units inbalances that I have yet to explain.
Knight with level 10 promotions attacks a open field barbarian archer with no promotions and ends up running away at 10% left?!?

This game is becoming almost impossible to see logic or intelligence I'm afraid since this happens more often than not in several levels of play including Monarch. I guess Firaxis has tried to "Balance" the game so much that logical "Fun" is just not an option for gamers to play anymore.

In my opinion, if Human player has a unit that can destroy "ANY" other players unit at a distance then that unit should automatically win.

Try testing this theory by using the worldbuilder and giving yourself a unit or 2 of higher level than anything on the map like say a hellicopter or Modern Armor unit then save and go back to the game and attack units where you know they just can't reach you like usiing the MA against a phalanx or swordsman, or using the chopper against a total ground unit that has absolutely no capability to defend against it like the above units. You'll find that your unit gets damaged anyways?!? How? This makes no sense to me at all, and is the most real "Bug" that firaxis needs to fix for sure, but keeps ignoring.

This works both way also like if you have a very weak unit suviving many battles one after another, and then (although rarely) your totally weakened warrior is attacked on a forested hill with barely .1 left and survives the battle still? I don't care how balanced a game is if the reality in battles is that either the human or AI oppents should win by logics then thats how it should be. Don't you agree?

Please don't hijack this thread with a discussion of your personal preference of combat realism (which is, I might add, far from being universal - lots of people, myself included, prefer game balance over so-called "realism"). But anyway, there are enough threads beating this dead horse already, so there's really no need to hijack a thread that apparently was just meant to be an exchange of memorable experiences.

There is nothing in my posting which "Hijacks" this thread and as for your opinion.

Deal with it!

Yesterday I attacked an unpromoted Archer on open ground with a Combat 1 Knight, who won but was left with just 1 HP. The combat rounds went AKAKAAAAAAAK - 7 successive hits by the Archer.
