Maybe it is time to make some personal changes then.
Day 2 of the impeachment hearings kicked off with more attempted obstruction attempts. It seems like Schiff is close to ejecting Gym Jordan for continual interruption of the proceedings.
edit: fixed the spelling of his name
Don't you mean Gym Jordan, the child abuse enabler?
The hearing is on a very long break. After ambassador Yovanovitch testified, they said they were taking a brief recess (I thought I heard 5 minutes) but they've been on break going on two hours now. I wanted to watch the whole hearing live but I've got things to do
Roger Stone has been found guilty all seven counts he faced.
(no paywall on this afaik)
WASHINGTON — Roger J. Stone Jr., a former aide and longtime friend of President Trump, was found guilty on Friday of obstructing a congressional investigation into Russia’s interference in the 2016 election in what prosecutors said was an effort to protect Mr. Trump.
Mr. Stone, 67, was charged with lying to the House Intelligence Committee, trying to block the testimony of another potential witness and concealing reams of evidence from investigators. Prosecutors claimed he tried to thwart the committee’s work because the truth would have “looked terrible” for both the president and his campaign. In all, he faced seven felony charges and was found guilty on all counts.
Pardon on deck
It will be interesting to see if Stone is pardoned.
Schiff is shutting the GOP down using the rules of order that the GOP passed when they were last in control of the House. Lol Nunes doesn't have much power to yield time to whoever he wants.
Well, if your opponents won't keep to your standards, at least keep them to theirs.
"I look forward to the Ethics Committee’s prompt resolution of this matter in my favor," Tlaib continued, "and I hope my experience will clear more room for people like me to run for office by availing themselves of FEC innovations that level the playing field, like paying a non-incumbent candidate salary or covering childcare expenses with campaign funds, so that financial privilege is not a prerequisite to participate in our democracy."
Tlaib's attorneys have said that the post-election payments were "to catch up on the salary which she had accrued, but had theretofore been withheld," the paper reports.
The corporatists have their knives out!
Minor nitpick. 'Corporatism' doesn't refer to rule by modern corporations, but rather corporate groups. A common example of Corporatism is the governance of the Roman Catholic church, but some elements of European Social Democracy, especially the German style, can be considered Corporatist as it attempted to bring interest groups (like industry, unions, education, banking) formally into government.
well mmk give me another term for the group that encompasses every american right winger and centrist democrat?
Amoral Capitalist Scum?
The possibilities are endless.
Given the creeping shift of the Overton window, may I suggest ‘politically right-wing?’
And my mind went straight to:
"Now you're telling me
You're not nostalgic
Then give me another word for it
You who are so good with words
And at keeping things vague
Because I need some of that vagueness now
It's all come back too clearly
Yes I loved you dearly
And if you're offering me diamonds and rust
I've already paid"
J. Baez, Diamonds and Rust
Yea the problem with this is the obvious fact that in the USA it includes democratic voters. Which is weird using that term for it, they are not socially right wing after all.
Thanks Hillary /s
Calling a coal plant "Paradise" is a pretty ironic choice... or just cynical maybe? Either way it takes a pretty sick sense of humor.
Attorney General William Barr gave an interesting speech at the Federalist Society's National Lawyers Convention a few days ago.
The nation's top law person.
Liberals -> GOVERNMENT
I seem to remember a bit of reflexive 'Resistance' when Obama was in office for 8 years.
He is calling for fairness, but Trump is almost done working off his karmic debt for birtherism, and the republicans are still working off their karmic debt for impeaching Clinton.
Fairness can take a number and wait!
Well, of course. The Republicans do it for 20 years and then when the Democrats finally do anything that could be interpreted as following suit, now the country is going to rack and ruin. Just as well projection has been in vogue for so long.
Separate names with a comma.
