^I had to check the link's URL just to make sure that it wasn't from ONN.
I feel like he is just saying things that every President thinks but won’t say. I think there is some ego in every person that runs for high office.
Not that it’s necessarily a bad thing, just that it takes all kinds.
I’d rather criticize Trump on policy than on vanity. I’m hopefully learning more how to do that than I used to! I should make an apology then for criticizing Obama for being vein, so I can stay consistent with this line of thinking.
Trump is a vane narcissist far beyond the scope of previous presidents.
Agreed. Other Presidents might think "wow, I wish I was up there." Only Trump thinks "I *should* be up there. Who can I bribe/intimidate to make this happen?
Well, his face is a little bit . . . plush . . . for
The stern, rugged stone of Mount Rushmore.
There's a medium more fit.
We would all cherish it,
Were he carved into stuff we could flush, more.
For myself, I'm surprised he hasn't demanded the existing four be razed and replaced with himself in four different poses.
He only wants to decrease war weariness in all cities.
@Gori the Grey Brilliant!
This isn't achieved by Mt Rushmore. Iirc it wasn't a wonder in the first place, at least up to CivIII.
And if it is in later versions, I hope it isn't a world wonder but a small one.
It was in 4-th.
Per Civ Wiki:
So what, good picture vs crappy picture? It's pretty impressive when you're there.
I've never been. How close can you get?
Closer if you hike the mile trail. The newer observation deck isn't particularly near.
Taking pictures of the thing suffers the problem of trying to take pictures of The Badlands, or the ocean.
It's not huge huge, but it's not small, probably the best scale is from stuff like this:
I think the pic is alluding to the rather small scale of Mt Rushmore, which in pics seems to be something carved on the side of a massive mountain, but in reality it is much smaller.
Having pygmy trees right next to the faces sort of gives the wrong impression too
It's impressive. It does initially strike you as smaller than all the photos you've seen of just the heads. But then you adjust to the fact that it's on a mountainside and how big it must be in its own right.
60 feet is 18 meters. There are individual pillars in temples that are higher than that.
Mostly fallen over though
1) they aren't carved to be discernible as a particular person's head and
2) I might be impressed with them, were I to see them
It's a national embarrassment, a pharaonic eyesore.
That's a bit protestant iconoclastic even for me. The start of the Crazyhorse one is pretty cool too.
