So, in the Exploration Age I have Cetbang ships and they have Coastal Raid option but when I upgrade them to tier 2 after researching Shipbuilding the Coastal Raid option disappears. I am have this issue with other ships in the Exploration Age when upgrading to tier 2. I believe I have also not seen the option present on ships in the Modern Age as well. Has anyone else had any issues with the Coastal Raid option disappearing or not working?
I am not entirely sure if this is a bug or because I am using mods (I do not believe I have any mods that would be affecting units like ships).

I have noticed this with certain ships as well. I think it was the carrack I don't have any option for coastal raid while cog did? I don't use mods.

Could this be the reason:

"Naval Units can no longer Disperse Independent Villages while a Unit is defending the Village."

Taken from the patch notes from the March 25 update.

This happened to me a few weeks ago. I think all ships I owned before some point lost the ability to raid, and new ships still had the ability. I vaguely remember reading about it in either a bug report page or a patch note, but don’t recall what it was.

This also happened to me. My carracks and galleons not only didn't have the ability to coastal raid, they couldn't do regular pillaging either. The buttons were just gone. This was exploration age with Bulgaria which made it extra sucky. They also could not disperse encampment or grab goody huts on the coast. Thankfully the abilities returned to my ships in modern.

I’m curious why this hasn’t been fixed in game yet? It seems kind of a small thing?

It definitely messed up an otherwise great Chola campaign of mine yesterday.

I am no longer shocked that day 1, seemingly easy bugs do not get fixed. I swear it's like they don't have anyone in house playing the game. Submitting a ticket, from what I heard, is unnecessarily difficult and run by the publisher instead of the developers.

Support tickets are actually real easy to submit, heres the link.

the issue tracker can be helpful but just scroll to the bottom of the page and select Civ7 to submit a ticket.

I had read that they require video evidence, am I wrong? That's just too much of a pain

It's not a requirement but depending on the type of bug you're reporting a screenshot or video would help them understand the issue better than text alone.

On my ps5 that requires 2 button pushes, it's the same on my PC. However, my MacBook requires 4 button pushes and a mouse click so I totally sympathize with what you describe as too much pain.

;)

The guy who posted the complaint you read was either being ironic, whining or trolling.

I think the work is that you have to either stop playing to document whatever bug you are seeing (record a video or take a screenshot that accurately communicates the issue) otherwise you would have to work backwards to recreate the bug you witnessed the first time.

It’s not a huge amount of work but it’s an added burden to the player, who is already nice enough to put together the bug report.

The preferred approach is for the team to have rigorous in-house play testers.
