Coastall Fortress & Sam Battery

Can anyone tell me do coastall fortress and SAM Battery works properli in C3C???
As I know it dinn't work in Civ3 and PTW????

Coastal F never bombarded any enemy ships

I've seen it happen once. It's a zone of control thing (the ship has to move from one square next to the CF to another).

Ok so what does SAM Battery REALLY do?

it hits overflying airplanes, but with little result. It also increases the interception chance against nukes but nukes are hardly used by the A.I.

I've never really use planes, AA or Coastal Fortress in my games. This aspect of the game is simply not interesting. :L

AA can be very effective (albeit really random) at killing enemy airplanes.

Coastal Fortress are next ti useless save for :
- it can take the damage for a more important improvement first (= delay)
- in case of a choke point or a navigable river (such as in ACW or along the Channel in the European conquest) it can shoot at passing ships (and since the AI usually brings back home his injured units...)
