Here's a sci-fi Colonial Marine, loosely based on the characters from Aliens. The download has a standard run animation in addition to the flying run in the preview.

This is my tenth unit and I made it with M3 instead of the PDM. I don't like M3 as well for civ animations/scale, but I think it turned out OK. I used some sounds from Muffin's and Balou's units, so thanks to them.

Awesome! You can't tell it's M3. I think Storm Grunt will love this guy.

Another fine unit. Great job. I'm really impressed at the quality of your units given the speed with which you're cranking them out!

Actually M3, Freak, and so on will all produce higher quality stuff than PDM but at the cost of render time. I

Great unit and great job on it (again) Navydawg. I know I'll be using this one

    Thanks!

One of my favorite films, now one of my favorite modern / future units. I look forward to getting home and having a proper look at it. Very nice looking unit, and an early runner for Unit of the Month I guess.

Great unit, ND! The only problem I`ve got with M3 is that all units created with that method end up taller than PDMs. This one too. But I`d still give it an 8/10. It`ll get a 10/10 if someone resizes it ;)

    Thanks for the compliments everyone.

Stormrage, I agree that he's a little tall, but I don't think he's too tall. M3 is lankier than PDM, so making him the same height will result in puny arms and legs. That's why PDM is better overall IMHO. He's shorter and stockier, which translates very well to Civ scale. Unfortunately, it makes it hard to put non PDM clothes on him.

Other people have found that changing Michael 3's Y scale to 95% or thereabouts - perhaps even smaller - helps to make him fit in a little better with the PDM and standard units.

Dunno bout limbs, but as he is now, his shoulders are wider than PDMs. 95% might work, mebbe you coud try that with your next M3 unit? :)

"All right, sweethearts, we're a team and there's nothing to worry about. We came here, we're gonna conquer, and we're gonna kick some, is that understood? That is what we're gonna do, sweethearts, we are going to go and get some. All right, people, on the ready line! Are ya mean?"

    Damn I love that movie.
