Could we get an AI sponsor in here? :D

Hydra Systems
Leader: Hydra AI
Theme: Artificial intelligence trying to escape destruction at the hands of the ARC. Based around connectivity and science. (Bonuses to city connections and to the network.
Trait: Many bodies, one mind
City connections halve the science and take off a quarter of the culture penalties from more cities. Networks give +0.25 science per population. (Is this OP? I don't know if this is OP. I suppose it's OP if you expand way too much.)

There's sort of an AI Sponsor planned already in the form of the Hachinohe Initiative, though that's less a single AI construct and more, er... I don't know if you've ever read the Culture novels by the late Iain M. Banks, but they're basically like that but at a much lower tech level. =]

Lord Shadow has gone effectively on hiatus for a while. Looking for someone to collaborate with :)

Oh wow, a Faction inspired by the Culture, that's quite... idealistic if I may say. Do they have some sort of Cyberbolivarian deal by chance?

Just wondering, why the Hachinohe Initiative? Do you just like the name, or is there something in particular about that particular Aomori port city that made you choose it?

In the lore, it's where the original Initiative was conceived. Also, the official flag/seal I thought fit the aesthetic of Beyond Earth quite a bit.

I'd like to see a kind of humanist collective - an assemblage of people more interested in good health and quality of life. They would accentuate positive health factors at the expense of productivity and militarization. Science would be strong, but mostly in primary sciences and less so in the applied sciences, i.e. leaf technologies. (Would it be possible to give a faction a science bonus for researching primary technologies and a penalty for researching leaf technologies?) The ethnic/regional identity of this collective need not be specified...perhaps a background created concerning the spinoff of the international science research teams in, say, the Earth's Antarctic? In keeping with that theme, they could be specialists in life in cold regions like tundra and ice, with a propensity for lots of smaller colonies - sort of ICS specialists but not so productive in energy and hammers as to be OP. We could call them, say, "The McMurdo Collective."

I meant, when designing the lore, why did you choose Hachinohe? There's nothing wrong with the choice or anything, you just don't hear about it often so I'm curious,

Put simply, there is no real reason for it. I'm really happy to develop (the undeveloped) lore further if it means shoe-horning the reason as to why the Sponsor will be cored the Hachinohe Initiative.

I just really liked the name and aesthetic that the region provided me with :)

Does that mean we're gonna be working on more lore for these guys?

Also, what happened to the sooper-sekrit thing that your tame voice actor was working on for that Civ with the crows from Devon in it?

I wonder how this?
The Crescent Company - Faiza al-Rahman.

Will relate to this
the Al Falah.
Spoiler :

Not sure exactly what needs to be done in order to update our mods.

In this thread Ryika gives some explanation how to update older sponsors.
In short: old traits are out and have to be made from scratch. Art is OK (recheck if you have them all some unused sizes are now used in RT). Diplomacy has to be completely redone and some small other things have to be removed and/or added.
Hope you update at least the Vesparians and who knows maybe you even finish your japan and dutch ones:D.
