Colonization leaders and Civ IV mods

I want to upload version 3.0 of my Frizzimod within the next weeks. Like many of us I have included several of the leaders of Colonization as Civ IV leaders.

Does anyone know if it is allowed to include such leaders in the mod and make the mod downloadable here? Or has Firaxis forbidden such things for copyright reasons?

I don't think Firaxis has ever said one way or the other, nor have I ever seen them take action against a mod for using selected assets from a Firaxis game.
