Combat I versus Land Tactics promotion

About to use a General to promote several units and not sure which of the above to apply. Have a clear understanding of the Combat I but not quite sure the difference or effect of the Land Tactics in comparison in different situations. Any and all comments welcome and appreciated.

Land Tactics unlock a lot more interesting promotions. On the other hand the Combat promotions only lead to stronger units, with the exception of artillery where they lead you to have the +1 range promotion at some point.

Thank you I hadn't thought of the promotions available. Still who has the advantage if a same class Combat I and a Tactic Level I unit battle an opponent, given all other things are equal (ie open flat terrain, etc)?

Nobody, the bonus is functionally identical. The choice is only determined by what promotions one wants to take later on.
