Combat Odds not appearing

Okay. According to many people, and some screenshots I have seen, it is possible to view the odds of a unit winning a battle against another unit.

Until a friend told me about this, I was not aware of it, for you see, it doesn't work or is not visible--at ALL--on either one of two computers I have played Civ 4 on. I have to do the math myself when it comes to the odds of winning a battle.

Anyone know why this might be? Is there some option I'm not turning on or turning off? I have version 1.61. I have the D2D version of the game, if that makes any difference.

When you have a unit that can attack another unit next to it, of a civ that you are at war with, then Select the unit you want to attack with, hold down the "ALT" key, and move the mouse over the units that you want to attack. The combat odds should appear.
