So for example, if you have only 1 city that produces 10 'gold' in its radius (i think that represents commerce)
1. Does this 10 commerce get shared among revenue+science+luxury?
2. Does tax evenue suffer from corruption? Coz when I look inside a city, the tax revenue doesnt have red 'coins' icon in it, but only the science one has red 'icon' in it. Also, since I seldom use luxury slider, does luxury also suffer from corruption?
3. If the tax revenue doesnt suffer from corruption and the science does, so does this mean that it will be more efficient put science as low as possible and buy tech off AI? (as well as luxury?)
4. Also, does this mean that courthouse encourages science research?

Corruption is calculated before commerce is split into science/taxes/luxuries, therefore, all suffer equally (in proportion to their rates) from it because less commerce is available after corruption. It is just that corruption is drawn in the science box, for whatever reason.

So, you might have 13 commerce, and 3 corruption, that means you have 10 commerce after corruption. Then that 10 commerce gets split up among science/taxes/luxuries, at whatever rates you have them set to.

To add to Krayzeenbk's post, corruption is applied first (and alwasy appears on the science portion of the commerce display). The remaining uncorrupted commerce ("net commerce") is then applied against your science and entertainment slider positions and then rounded, with the remainder going to taxes. The science and tax amounts then benefit from any relevant improvements.

Example: A city produces 18 commerce, with 4 lost to corruption, leaving 14 net commerce. With the science slider set at 40% and the entertainment slider set at 20%, 5.6 net commerce would go to science (40% x 14) -- rounded to 6 -- and 2.8 net commerce would go to entertainment (20% x 14) -- rounded to 3 -- leaving 5 commerce going to taxes (14 net commerce minus 6 to science minus 3 to entertainment). With a library in the city, the 6 commerce going to science would become 9 (6 commerce plus 50% bonus of library). With a marketplace in the city, the 5 commerce going to taxes would become either 7 or 8 (I can't recall the rounding rules applied agaist a 7.5 number) based on the 50% bonus to taxes provided by the market. In any event, the four commerce lost to corruption will always show up on the science output display.
